Variations in stable isotope ratios of oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, etc. measured from rice can be suppressed, and rice production areas can be estimated with higher accuracy. A powder sample S is prepared by pulverizing three or more rice grains selected from rice to be analyzed with a powder device 10 and mixing them uniformly, and the obtained powder sample S is converted into a stable isotope ratio. A stable isotope ratio relating to at least one of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen is measured based on the gas obtained by combustion by the analyzer 20, and the rice production area is estimated based on the obtained measurement result.
