A rubber composition for tires that can achieve both ozone resistance and appearance and a pneumatic tire using the same. A hydrogenated copolymer obtained by hydrogenating an aromatic vinyl-conjugated diene copolymer, having a weight average molecular weight of 300,000 or more measured by gel permeation chromatography, and hydrogen in a conjugated diene part. A tire rubber composition comprising a rubber component containing a hydrogenated copolymer having an addition rate of 80 mol% or more and substantially free of a chemical anti-aging agent.
