abstract Provided is a method for producing pentamethylene diisocyanate capable of suppressing a decrease in fluidity of a salt-formation mixture containing pentamethylenediamine hydrochloride and preventing the adhesion of pentamethylenediamine hydrochloride to a stirring tank in the salt-forming step. To do. An amine raw material containing pentamethylene diamine having an ethanolamine content of 0.10% by mass or less is prepared, and the amine raw material and hydrogen chloride are mixed together to prepare pentamethylene diamine. After obtaining the hydrochloride, pentamethylenediamine hydrochloride and carbonyl chloride are reacted to obtain pentamethylene diisocyanate. [Selection] Figure 1
