abstract Compositions comprising binding proteins, such as antibodies and antigen-binding fragments thereof, that bind to matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) protein (also known as gelatinase-B) and methods of use are provided. The present disclosure relates to compositions and uses comprising binding proteins, such as antibodies and antigen binding fragments thereof, that bind to matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) protein (MMP9 is also known as gelatinase-B). Methods are provided, for example, where the binding protein comprises an immunoglobulin (Ig) heavy chain (or functional fragment thereof) and an Ig light chain (or functional fragment thereof) and methods of use. In some embodiments, the antibody or fragment thereof inhibits the enzymatic activity of MMP9, for example, by non-competitive inhibition. [Selection figure] None
