Provided is a multi-component polylactic acid production method for producing multi-component polylactic acid based on lignocellulose. [Solution] This is a method for producing multi-component polylactic acid by culturing microorganisms in a medium containing a hot water extract of lignocellulose. Further, the absorbance at a wavelength of 420 nm of the hot water extract when the sugar concentration of the sugar in the aqueous solution of the hot water extract is 1% by mass is 0.04 or less. Multi-element polylactic acid is a copolymer of lactic acid and hydroxybutyric acid. The multi-component polylactic acid has a lactic acid content of 5% or more and less than 50%. The hot water extract is a treated product obtained by hydrolyzing the hot water extract with an acid. [Selection figure] None |
