Provided is a rust preventive coating composition comprising a coated article provided with a film and a rust preventive coating film forming composition. A rust preventive coating film forming composition contains a rust preventive pigment and a binder. The rust preventive pigment consists only of zinc and magnesium compounds. The coated article includes a rust preventive coating film containing the rust preventive coating film forming composition.
