Plugged honeycomb structure |
abstract |
Provided is a plugged honeycomb structure excellent in regeneration efficiency during regeneration in which soot is burned and removed. A plurality of honeycomb segments 7, a bonding layer 18, and a plugging portion 3 for plugging an opening of a cell 2 of the honeycomb segment 7 are provided. The honeycomb segment 7 includes an outer peripheral segment 7b and a central segment 7a. The outer peripheral segment 7b has a soot pressure loss of 15% or more higher than the soot pressure loss of the central segment 7a when the soot accumulation amount is 4 g / L, and the opening ratio of the outer peripheral segment 7b is higher than that of the central segment 7a. At least one specific outer peripheral segment 7ba that is equal to or higher than the aperture ratio is included. The ratio of the area occupied by the specific outer peripheral segment 7ba to the total area occupied by the outer peripheral segment 7b and the central segment 7a in the cross section perpendicular to the cell 2 extending direction of the honeycomb structure 9 is 4% or more.
