abstract | A display device having high visibility regardless of the intensity of external light is provided. Provided is a display device which can perform various display methods. Provided is a display device which can be driven with low power consumption. A display device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a first liquid crystal layer, a second liquid crystal layer, a first colored layer, and a first insulating layer. . The first liquid crystal layer and the second liquid crystal layer are provided to overlap each other with the first insulating layer interposed therebetween. The first electrode has a function of reflecting visible light. The second electrode has a portion that does not overlap with the first electrode and has a function of transmitting visible light. The second liquid crystal layer includes a first portion that overlaps with the first colored layer and the second electrode, and a second portion that does not overlap with the first colored layer.
