abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing toner particles that suppresses the generation of fine particles and has a high aspect ratio and excellent developability. A preparation process for preparing an aqueous medium containing hardly water-soluble inorganic fine particles and polyvalent metal ions, and a polymerizable monomer composition containing a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in the aqueous medium. A granulating step of forming particles of the polymerizable monomer composition in the aqueous medium, and polymerizing the polymerizable monomer contained in the particles of the polymerizable monomer composition A method for producing toner particles having a polymerization step of generating toner particles, wherein a content ratio of the polyvalent metal ion in the aqueous medium prepared in the preparation step is 4 mmoL / L or more and 120 mmoL / L or less. A method for producing toner particles in which D1 satisfies 50 nm ≦ D1 ≦ 250 nm, where D1 is the number average particle diameter of the poorly water-soluble inorganic fine particles.
