abstract A removable color proof assembly, system and method for monitoring thermal and impact events on the surface of a composite structure. The removable color proof assembly includes a plurality of color proof geometric structures that are individually coupled to one or more portions of a polymer film layer in an arrangement. Each construct 40 has a plurality of color probes of the same type incorporated into the adhesive. At least two of the plurality of structures 40 have different types of color probes that have different sensing capabilities for thermal and shock events on the composite structure. The polymer film layer 32 and the construct 40 are configured to be removably applied directly and continuously to the surface of the composite structure and are removable color evidence configured to monitor thermal and impact events A removable color proof assembly 10 is formed as an applique 12.
