abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a method for assisting in the diagnosis of the risk that a diabetic patient in diabetic nephropathy stage 1 progresses from stage 2 onwards. When a urinary apolipoprotein E (ApoE) concentration of a diabetic patient in stage 1 of diabetic nephropathy is measured, and the urinary ApoE concentration is less than a predetermined threshold, the patient is diabetic nephropathy 2 The above-mentioned problem is solved by determining that the risk of progressing after the period is high.
