abstract | The present invention provides a selective medium for lactic acid bacteria having improved selectivity as compared with a conventional selective medium. A selective medium for selectively growing one or more Lactobacillus bacteria selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus amyloboraus, and Lactobacillus brevis. The medium contains ciprofloxacin, clindamycin, and cephalothin. This selective medium is used to detect one or more Lactobacillus genus bacteria selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus amylobolus, and Lactobacillus brevis, and the number of viable bacteria.
