abstract A variety of pollutants with biocidal and chemical decontamination performance / neutralization properties, including but not limited to various commercial, health care, military applications and chemical biological weapons. Providing reactive compositions that are useful. A reactive film-forming composition comprising a mixture of low density polyethylene and polyvinyl pyrrolide, preferably further comprising polyethylene glycol. The film is exposed to an activator whose reactivity is selected from liquids or hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, chlorine, iodine, tosyl chloride, N-chlorotosylamide, N-chlorosulfonamide, N-deprotonatesulfonamide or dichloroisocyanuric acid. Reactive film-forming composition. The reactive composition comprises a hygroscopic polymer and an active agent and can be regenerated or reactivated after use by exposure of an additional applied active agent. [Selection figure] None
