An igniter having reproducible ignition characteristics as much as possible is provided. A pyrotechnic igniter (100) for an inflator of a vehicle safety system includes at least two connection pins (102) physically separated from each other by an electrically insulating compound and both connection pins (102). And a bridge line (110) connected in an electrically conductive manner. A fastening portion where the bridge line (110) is welded to the connection pin (102) is provided at each connection pin (102).
