titleOfInvention Low temperature fired apatite ceramics and method for producing the same
abstract Disclosed is a low-temperature fired apatite ceramic excellent in homogeneous antibacterial properties and durability, in which metallic silver does not precipitate even when fired, and a method for producing the same. The low-temperature-fired apatite ceramics and the method for producing the same according to the present invention are obtained by kneading a mixture of a carbonate-containing hydroxyapatite powder containing a carbonate group in a crystal with silver or silver oxide by adding ethanol. From this, ethanol is removed by evaporation to obtain a powdery apatite composition. Then, the powdery apatite composition is put into a mold container and pressurized to produce an apatite composition object having a predetermined shape, and the apatite composition object is heated and fired to a set temperature within a range of 500 to 970 ° C. Thus, an apatite ceramic in which silver is dissolved in the ceramic is obtained. The obtained apatite ceramic is a silver-dispersed solid solution in which the peak of metallic silver [● Ag (cubic)] is not detected even by crystal structure analysis using X-ray diffraction.
