abstract |
The present invention provides a therapeutic polypeptide having an extended half-life while maintaining high pharmacological effectiveness for inducing hemostasis in hemophilia patients. A polypeptide comprising a small number of 1 to 3 chorionic gonadotropin carboxy-terminal peptide (CTP) linked to the carboxy terminus of a clotting factor, and a polynucleotide encoding the same. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising said polypeptides and polynucleotides and methods of using them. The CTP is not bound to the amino terminus of the coagulation factor, the coagulation factor does not have a signal peptide, the polypeptide has coagulation activity, and the coagulation factor is factor VII (FVII) Or a method of use which is activated factor VIIa (FVIIa).
