abstract |
Provided is an electric double layer capacitor that can easily suppress an increase in diffusion resistance of a positive electrode over time even when γ-butyrolactone is used as a solvent. An electric double layer capacitor is formed by impregnating an element in which a positive foil 1 and a negative foil 2 are wound through a separator 3 with an electrolytic solution. The electrolytic solution contains γ-butyrolactone as a solvent. The band width of the positive electrode foil 1 is wider than that of the negative electrode foil 2, and the element is formed by winding the positive electrode foil 1 so as to protrude from the negative electrode foil 2 in the band width direction.
