abstract | 【Task】 In the production method of cyclic polyarylene sulfide, by optimizing the amount of organic polar solvent and water in the reaction mixture, the reaction can be sufficiently advanced even under high concentration conditions, and the reaction generation per unit volume The yield of the cyclic polyarylene sulfide obtained from the product can be increased, and the filtrate containing the cyclic polyarylene sulfide can be efficiently separated and recovered at a high filtration rate. [Solution] A reaction mixture containing at least a sulfidizing agent, a dihalogenated aromatic compound and an organic polar solvent, wherein the organic polar solvent in the reaction mixture is 0.5 liter or more and less than 1.25 liter per mole of sulfur component in the reaction mixture. Then, the reaction mixture in which the water content in the reaction mixture is 0.05 mol or more and 0.3 mol or less per mol of the organic polar solvent in the reaction mixture is reacted by heating, and then the obtained reaction product is solidified by filtration.
