abstract |
Provided is a modified Cry1Da amino acid sequence that exhibits improved lepidopterous insecticidal activity and extended lepidopteran spectrum compared to wild-type Cry1Da protein toxins. Also provided are polynucleotide sequences intended for use in expressing improved proteins in plants. Certain embodiments provide a recombinant plant, plant part, and seed carrying a composition comprising an insect-inhibiting amount of the modified protein, as well as a polynucleotide construct encoding one or more improved modified proteins.
