Improved systems and methods for drug delivery are provided, and in particular, improved insulin pen needles and related devices are provided. A sophisticated infusion device records and transfers data including drug level, delivered dose, dosing confirmation, and dosing date and time. Additional data captured may include glucose concentrations, insulin levels, ingested carbohydrates, stress levels, exercise, blood pressure, and glucose high and low deviation events. Various means of data collection and analysis are provided and the system can identify and give attention to patients in need of therapeutic intervention. A high performance sleeve adds detection capability to a standard insulin pen. The pen needle is equipped with sensing capability to confirm and measure the dose delivered by the insulin pen. The two-part pen cap provides the main sleeve that connects to the insulin pen, captures the time of dose delivery, and monitors the hold time for dose delivery after plunger movement Part cap. |
