The present invention is based on the identification of a cohort of polyurethane block copolymers that are particularly adapted for use in pharmaceutical polymer drug-device units and provide improved control of drug release. In particular, a pharmaceutically active polyurethane block copolymer obtained by reacting together a poly (alkylene oxide), a difunctional compound, a difunctional isocyanate, and optionally a block copolymer comprising a poly (alkylene oxide) block. A polymeric drug-device unit comprising quinagolide as an agent is provided. The drug-device unit can find use in the treatment and / or prevention of endometriosis. [Selection] Figure 1 |
