abstract Cut pattern design for making frame structures from solid tubes that can be used as part of medical devices such as catheters. The tube includes a plurality of units of cutout segments distributed in a zone around the circumference of the tube. The tube may have a plurality of different zones, each zone having a unit containing various cutout segments. The cutout segment may have various cutout surface areas so that the flexibility of the tube can be modified anywhere along the tube. By modifying the cut-out surface area, a zone with a larger cut-out surface area becomes more flexible than the other zones. This tube can be integrated into the catheter. [Selection] Figure 2A
