Disclosed herein are bio-derived polymer matrix composites originating from a single waste stream, and methods for producing such bio-derived polymer matrix composites from a single waste stream. The disclosed method allows for the simultaneous production of both bio-derived polymer matrices and additives that are the main components of the complex from a unique waste stream source. In a preferred embodiment, the invention applies to, but is not limited to, the production of a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) complex from a single olive press waste (OMW) stream. The use of such composites is not limited, but is typically used as a material for making agricultural products. |
