titleOfInvention Introducing sheath with embolic protection
abstract The embolic protection device comprises an embolic filter that is attached to the inner sheath. The embolic filter includes at least a first catheter access port and a second catheter port. At least the first catheter port is typically radially expandable to accept different diameter catheters and may be located at the amorphous end of the empty conical structure at the downstream end of the filter. The embolic filter has an open upstream end, a closed downstream end, a radially collapsed delivery configuration, and a radially expanded configuration, wherein the outer wall is in contact with the vessel wall and allows blood flow. Directed through the upstream end and configured to direct an embolus into the collection chamber.
