Ink containing gelling agent for 3D printing |
abstract |
In one aspect, a method for printing a three-dimensional article is described herein. In some embodiments, the methods described herein comprise jetting a temperature T1 ink onto a temperature T2 substrate to form a layer of ink on the substrate. The method further comprises the step of substantially curing the ink layer. T1 is higher than T2, and the uncured ink has a liquid-gel transition temperature lower than T1 and higher than T2. In addition, the ink layer is on the substrate at a rate R1 expressed in mg / s / in 2 that is within 60% of the gelation rate R2 of the ink expressed in reciprocal minutes in the uncured state at T2. Is deposited. The ink can include a curable material and a gelling agent. |
