titleOfInvention | Oxidative dearomatization of belbin. |
abstract | The present disclosure provides oxidized velvin derivatives, processes for preparing them, and methods for using the oxidized velvin derivatives. The velvin class of heterocyclic compounds is structurally related to the plant alkaloid berberine. Belvin compounds have been reported to have many therapeutic effects. For example, velvin has been found to have antibacterial, antidiabetic, analgesic, and anticancer activities. Because of the potential therapeutic value of velvin compounds and their derivatives, new derivatives are sought that can be more potent and / or effective. |
