titleOfInvention | How to control the sex of a fertilized egg using a light source |
abstract | In order to promote the development of a selected sex embryo, the sex of the embryo in the egg is affected or controlled by applying light having a selected wavelength. An incubator having an internal space that can be sealed from the outside and having a plurality of lighting elements in the internal space is provided. Eggs are installed in the interior space and predetermined environmental conditions are applied to the interior space to promote egg hatching. Simultaneously with the application of environmental conditions, the eggs are illuminated according to predetermined lighting conditions. Illumination conditions include shining light having a wavelength that is substantially concentrated in a selected range, for example, a light wavelength in the range of 440-460 nm or other narrow range.
