titleOfInvention Low crystallinity glass ceramic
abstract The disclosed embodiments relate to crystalline glass and glass ceramics that exhibit black color and are opaque. In one or more embodiments, the crystalline glass and glass ceramic comprise a precursor glass composition that exhibits a liquidus viscosity greater than about 20 kPa · sec. The glass-ceramic exhibits Fe 2 O 3 —TiO 2 —MgO-based, one or more crystalline phases of less than about 20 wt%, which can have a plurality of grains and an area fraction of less than about 15%. Examples of compositions used for crystalline glasses and glass ceramics are, in mole percent, SiO 2 in the range of about 50 to about 76, Al 2 O 3 in the range of about 4 to about 25, about 0 to about 14. P 2 O 5 + B 2 O 3 in the range, R 2 O in the range of about 2 to about 20, one or more nucleating agents in the range of about 0 to about 5, and in the range of about 0 to about 20. Including RO.
