titleOfInvention | Removable deployment system and method for implantable mesh prosthesis |
abstract | A medical device comprising a mesh prosthesis having a first mesh layer affixed to a second mesh layer along a boundary region. The enclosure is defined between the first mesh layer and the second mesh layer and extends inwardly from the boundary region. The opening in the first mesh layer passes through the first mesh layer to the enclosure. The fixed guide template defines a guide pocket inside the enclosure. The resilient deployment structure is removably disposed within the enclosure and extends toward the border region. The elastic deployment structure has elasticity to generate an elastic deployment force for encouraging the mesh prosthesis from a non-deployment configuration to a deployment configuration. The shield protrusion extends outward from the boundary of the elastic deployment structure and is engaged within the guide pocket to prevent relative rotational movement between the elastic deployment structure and the mesh prosthesis. Also included is a method of using a medical device. [Selection] Figure 2 |
