The present invention provides a system and method for performing Euclidean and geodetic measurements using an optical plane to measure the 3D distance and dimensions of an object in an endoscopic image. The endoscopic measurement system of the present invention includes a flexible or rigid endoscopic device with standard visualization means and a module that includes components that generate an optical plane. Based on triangulation, the intersection curve between the light plane and the object of interest can be measured in 3D within the coordinate system of the visualization means. [Selection] Figure 4 |
