abstract | A method of making a modified heterophasic polyolefin composition is provided, whereby a polyolefin composition having at least two phases is subjected to a radical addition reaction with a free radical generator, such as a peroxide, and at least one nitroxide radical. It is melt mixed with a compatibilizer characterized by at least one unsaturated bond that can be received. Modified heterophasic polyolefin compositions having increased melt flow rate, impact strength, and transparency incorporating a compatibilizer are also included within the scope of the present invention.
