titleOfInvention Method for reducing the amount of zinc (ZN) and lead (PB) in a material containing iron (Fe)
abstract The present invention relates to a method for reducing the amount of starting zinc and lead containing iron, in one or more reactors at a temperature above 35 ° C. and at a pH of 0.5 to 3.5. By selectively leaching Zn and Pb contained in the starting material and separating it into a solid and a filtrate by mixing the starting material containing at least 5% by weight of manganese dioxide with hydrochloric acid and an oxidant. Filtering the mixture, washing the solid with water, the remaining solid comprising mainly Fe and reduced amounts of Zn and Pb compared to the original starting material; Collecting the filtrate of step b) containing chloride and solubilized Zn and Pb and the wash water of step c) of one or more reactors, and mixing the neutralizing agent. By precipitation of the recovered filtrate and wash water solubilized Zn and Pb, and in step e) to remove chloride in the solution from the solid residue containing at least Pb and Zn Filtering and washing the solid residue. The present invention is applicable to all high-temperature metallurgical blast furnaces that emphasize iron, such as sintering factories, blast furnaces, or arc furnaces (EAF), hot metal furnaces, oxycup blast furnaces, submerged arc blast furnaces (SAF), plasma furnaces, and rotary hearth furnaces. The use of materials obtained after processing is also mentioned. [Selection] Figure 1
