Wherein the base includes a recess extending along the longitudinal axis in the shell for receiving the heater of the aerosol generator, relating to a capsule for the aerosol generator. The invention further comprises a power source, at least one heater, a recess for receiving a capsule comprising an aerosol-forming substrate according to any of the preceding claims, and a penetrating element for penetrating the lid of the capsule. In which an at least one heater is configured to be insertable into a capsule well. Further, an aerosol generation system including an aerosol generation device and a capsule is provided.
