abstract |
Disclosed is a polyarylene sulfide composition that provides a product suitable for use in various applications, particularly showing a combination of heat resistance and impact resistance. A polyarylene sulfide composition formed by melt processing a polyarylene sulfide, a silane coupling agent, and a silicone elastomer. A polyarylene sulfide composition, wherein the silane coupling agent is preferably an aminosilane coupling agent and the silicone elastomer is preferably poly (dimethylsiloxane). Preferably a polyarylene sulfide composition, wherein the polyarylene sulfide is a polyphenylene sulfide or a reactive functionalized polyarylene sulfide. ISO test no. A polyarylene sulfide composition that satisfies the V-0 flammability standard at a tensile modulus of about 3000 MPa or more and a thickness of 0.2 mm as measured according to 527.
