abstract |
There is a need for a lithium silicate glass ceramic that enables crystallization of lithium disilicate at lower temperatures during the preparation of the lithium silicate glass ceramic. Lithium silicate glass ceramics and glasses are described that crystallize at low temperatures and contain oxides of certain monovalent elements that are particularly suitable for dental materials. The present invention contains monovalent metal oxides selected from Rb 2 O, Cs 2 O and mixtures thereof, and is particularly suitable for use in dentistry, preferably for the preparation of dental restorations.
