titleOfInvention | Cold crucible melting furnace |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to prevent or suppress the occurrence of an induction current (eddy current) that circulates in a tubular cooling water channel in each segment, thereby reducing loss of input power due to induction heating of a crucible and increasing melting efficiency. A cold crucible melting furnace is provided. A body portion 10 of a crucible 1 has a circumferential direction through a longitudinal slit 3 in which a plurality of segments 2 in which a tubular water-cooled passage C1 extending in a height direction is formed is closed with an insulating material 4. The segment 2 is arranged in a state where the segment 2 has at least one wall portion of the outer peripheral wall portion 22B and the two side wall portions 22C and 22D, and the open portion 24 communicated with the water cooling passage C1 from the outside of the segment 2. The cold crucible melting furnace X is applied to which the open portion 24 is closed by the watertight material 25 having a higher electrical resistivity than the inner peripheral wall portion 22A.
