A nickel-metal hydride storage battery according to the present invention includes a strip-shaped positive electrode, a strip-shaped negative electrode, and an electrode group in which a strip-shaped separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode is wound, an electrolyte included in the electrode group, Is provided. The positive electrode includes a nickel compound as a positive electrode active material, and the negative electrode includes a hydrogen storage alloy as a negative electrode active material. A fluororesin is attached to the surface of the negative electrode, and the negative electrode has a first portion disposed on the outermost periphery of the electrode group and a second portion other than the first portion.
