titleOfInvention | Display device, control method, and semiconductor device |
abstract | Provided are a display device, a control method, and a semiconductor device capable of achieving both high-quality image display and further power consumption reduction. A display device includes an image display panel and a drive unit that drives the image display panel. The driving unit sets the common voltage to a constant DC voltage, inverts the polarity of the video signal for each predetermined number of video signal lines, and inverts the polarity of the video signal for each predetermined number of video signal lines in units of frames. In the first display mode, the common voltage is an AC voltage whose polarity is inverted in frame units, the polarity of the video signal is opposite to the polarity of the common voltage, and the polarity of the video signal is the common voltage in frame units. And a second display mode that is reversed so as to have a polarity opposite to the polarity of the first display mode, and switches between the first display mode and the second display mode according to a mode switching signal from the outside.
