abstract An inorganic compound manufacturing method, a sealing material manufacturing method, and a sealing material capable of improving gas barrier properties of the sealing material are provided. A stripping step in which an inorganic compound having a layered structure is added to a solvent and the solvent is stirred to separate the layers of the inorganic compound, and the stripping includes the inorganic compound separated from the layers obtained by the stripping step. A freeze-drying step in which the solvent is frozen and dried in vacuum; and a firing step in which the inorganic compound obtained by the freeze-drying step is peeled off. Have [Selection] Figure 1
