abstract An imaging apparatus that is further miniaturized, an imaging method of an imaging object using the imaging apparatus, and a medical observation apparatus are realized. An imaging method according to the present disclosure uses a branching optical system that coaxially branches incident light into at least three or more different optical paths, and at least a part of the at least three or more optical paths is used. The optical path is used as an optical path for guiding light to the imaging target and an optical path for guiding light from the imaging target, and the irradiation position is controlled via the first optical path in the branch optical system. Irradiating the imaging object with light having a predetermined wavelength, and passing the light from the imaging object to at least one imaging device via an optical path other than the first optical path in the branching optical system.
