titleOfInvention | Particulate matter detector |
abstract | Disclosed is a particulate matter detection device and a particulate matter detection method in which variations in sensor output are reduced and the detection accuracy of the number of particles is improved. A particulate matter detection device includes a detection unit 2 provided with a pair of electrodes 21 and 22, and a heater unit 3 provided with a heater electrode 31, and outputs a signal corresponding to the amount of the particulate matter. The sensor part 1 and the sensor control part 4 which detects the particle number N of a particulate matter are provided. The sensor control unit includes a collection control unit 41, a heating control unit 42 that heats the detection unit to a first temperature T1 at which SOF volatilizes, a second temperature T2 at which soot burns, and a first at the first temperature. An output change rate calculation unit 431 that calculates the ratio between the output value V1 and the second output value V2 that is the maximum output when heating to the second temperature, and this is the temperature of the sensor unit at the second output value A particle number calculation unit 43 that estimates the average particle diameter D of the particulate matter from the value corrected based on T and calculates the number of particles is provided.
