abstract |
A medical device for sealing and treating a defect in a body lumen wall is provided. A medical device for sealing and treating a defect in a body lumen wall includes a wire frame and a partial circumferential stent body. The intraluminal sealing device is suitable for use in the digestive tract including the colon. This is because the partial circumferential sealing device is configured to follow the peristaltic movement of the digestive tract. This feature allows the sealing device to remain elastically placed at a desired location in the gastrointestinal tract so that the lumen wall defect is sealed by the presence of the sealing device.
