abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photosensitive member capable of obtaining high durability and capable of forming a high-resolution image even when repeatedly used for a long period of time, and an image forming apparatus including the same. An electrophotographic photosensitive member is an electrophotographic photosensitive member in which an intermediate layer, a photosensitive layer, and a surface layer are laminated in this order on a conductive support, and the surface layer has a monomer having an alkoxysilane structure. And a cured product of a composition comprising a metal oxide fine particle having a reactive organic group that reacts with a group other than the polymerizable reactive group in the monomer, and an electron transport agent. In this electrophotographic photosensitive member, the metal oxide fine particles are preferably made of at least one selected from the group consisting of SnO 2 , SiO 2 and Al 2 O 3 .
