The electrophoretic dispersion liquid of the present invention contains at least one kind of electrophoretic particles 1 and a dispersion medium, and the content of the electrophoretic particles 1 in the electrophoretic dispersion liquid is as follows: It is 10 wt% or more and 30 wt% or less. Further, the electrophoretic particle 1 has a mother particle 2 and a polymer 39 (particle surface treatment agent) linked to the mother particle 2, and the content of the polymer 39 in the electrophoretic particle 1 is 5% by weight or more and 15%.
