abstract |
The present invention provides a composition for treating or ameliorating tissue damage. A stromal cell derived factor-1 (SDF-1) peptide comprising an amino acid sequence of at least amino acids 1-8 of the sequence below and optionally extending all or any part of the remaining sequence at the C-terminus: Alternatively, it can be administered intravenously with a composition comprising a mutant SDF-1 peptide that retains chemoattractant activity but is mutated to render them resistant to protease digestion.
