abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent capable of recovering and separating acidic compounds with relatively little energy consumption. The absorbent of the present invention is an absorbent capable of reversibly absorbing and desorbing an acidic compound, and includes water, an amine compound and an organic solvent, and the organic solvent is determined from the solubility parameter of the amine compound. The value obtained by subtracting the solubility parameter is 1.1 (cal / cm 3 ) 1/2 or more and 4.2 (cal / cm 3 ) 1/2 or less. The amine compound is preferably a secondary amine. As a content rate of the said amine compound, 20 to 40 mass% is preferable. As a content rate of the said organic solvent, 40 to 60 mass% is preferable. [Selection figure] None
