abstract | A novel winding number switching type electric machine is provided. A phase number switching electric machine capable of triple the number of poles is provided. The stator coil 1 is composed of a plurality of series three-phase windings 1U, 1V, 1W connected to a 4-leg converter 2, respectively. Three H-bridges individually connected to the three independent phase coils 5 can be employed instead of the series three-phase winding connected to the four-leg converter 4. The machine has a single-phase mode in addition to the conventional three-phase mode. Single phase mode has excellent low speed performance. In order to triple the number of rotor poles, the direction of the field current can be reversed. [Selection] Figure 1 |
