abstract |
A spinal implant system including a spinal implant and a method for treating the spine are provided. A spinal implant includes an intermediate portion and a first portion extending laterally from the intermediate portion. The first portion includes an inner surface that is connectable to vertebral tissue adjacent to the lamina. The second portion is spaced from the first portion and extends laterally from the intermediate portion. The second portion includes an inner surface that is connectable to vertebral tissue adjacent to the lamina. At least one of the first portion and the second portion includes an outer surface having a mating element that is engageable with the mating element of the surgical instrument.
