abstract |
A lipid metabolism-improving agent comprising a 4-substituted benzoic acid derivative (I). A lipid metabolism improving agent which is a solid dispersion comprising a 4-substituted benzoic acid derivative (I) and a water-soluble polymer substance. [Effects] The lipid metabolism-improving agent suppresses the expression of NPC1L1 involved in absorption of cholesterol and the like in the small intestine, and suppresses cholesterol circulation from the small intestine to the liver. Since the mechanism of action is different from that of existing lipid lowering agents, the lipid metabolism improving agent of the present invention can be expected to be administered in combination with statins and MTP inhibitors.
