abstract | The present invention provides an electrophotographic photosensitive member that is excellent in productivity and that can simultaneously achieve good mechanical strength, image flow suppression, and excellent electrical characteristics, and a method for producing the electrophotographic photosensitive member. A surface layer of a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photosensitive member having a support and a photosensitive layer formed on the support has (i) a triphenylamine compound having a hydroxymethyl group and a hydroxymethyl group. At least one selected from the group consisting of benzidine compounds, and (ii) four types of structures having a structure in which an aryl group or an arylene group is adjacent to a urea site or a thiourea site and an alkyl group is adjacent to a nitrogen atom It contains a cured product obtained by copolymerizing at least one selected from the group consisting of compounds.
